The Arrecife City Council has initiated a new process to cover labor needs through the hiring of bus drivers via an Employment Pool. The Official Provincial Gazette (BOP) publishes in its edition this Wednesday, December 3, the official announcement from the Municipal Government led by Mayor Yonathan de León.
The Department of Transport and Mobility, led by councilor Mario González Altube, wishes to fill the new positions with this employment pool with bus drivers. The Arrecife City Council has an extensive modernization of the bus service underway during 2026 with the arrival of new buses, which will arrive in the coming weeks, in addition to those currently out for tender.
The objective of the Department of Transport and Mobility is to have eight new large buses in this second half of the term, of which four are in the process of delivery, and two are out for tender. For next year, it is planned to continue tendering for more units, as part of the commitment of the Governing Group led by Yonathan de León to substantially modernize the Arrecife Urban Bus service with new lines, shorter routes, and less waiting time at municipal stops
More buses, more drivers, and better routes
With this announcement in the BOP, following the decree signed by the mayor on November 10th regarding the call and approval of the specific bases that will govern the selection process for the creation of a specific employment list corresponding to the specialty of Public Transport Driver, through the merit-based competition system
This BOP publishes the bases for the personnel selection procedure and the subsequent formation of a Specific Employment List (Job Pools) corresponding to the specialty of Public Transport Driver (Group IV / C2). And the specific bases that will govern the selection process in question have been approved.
The Human Resources Department of the Arrecife City Council, led by PP spokesperson councilwoman Eli Merino, reminds applicants that they must meet these requirements:
A). To be in possession of a Secondary Compulsory Education Graduate degree or equivalent, or to be in a position to obtain it by the deadline for submitting applications. In the case of degrees obtained abroad, the credential accrediting their homologation issued by the competent Spanish General State Administration must be provided.B). Possess a Type D driver's license with a minimum of 12 months of seniority as of the publication date of this call for applications. In the case of degrees or permits obtained abroad, the corresponding validation or credential proving their homologation must be possessed.C). Possess the Certificate of Professional Aptitude (CAP) in the terms established by Royal Decree 1032/2007, of July 20D). Possess at least ten points on their driving license. All requirements demanded in the previous sections must be met by the final day for submitting applications, maintained throughout the entire process, and up to the moment of appointment or the signing of the employment contract.
Applications, deadline, and submission location
Those who wish to participate in the selection process must state this, by completing the application form, in accordance with the model included as an ANNEX in the BOP, with these bases, addressed to the mayor, president of the Illustrious City Council of Arrecife.
The aforementioned standardized application form can also be obtained through the Corporation's electronic headquarters or from the Human Resources management unit of this same Institution.
The BOP specifies in detail all the documentation that must be submitted along with the application by those who wish to be part of this employment pool in the Arrecife City Council.
