The Arrecife City Council has reported the payment of nearly 400,000 euros in sports grants corresponding to the calls for axes 1 and 2, aimed at supporting clubs, sports schools, and athletes from the municipality.
According to the Department of Sports, a total of 18 clubs have already received in their accounts the aid from the so-called axis 1, focused on the promotion of grassroots sports and sports schools. Likewise, 20 sports entities have received the amounts corresponding to axis 2.
The Area directed by Eli Merino has indicated that the payment to five more clubs within axis 1 and to four sports entities in axis 2 is currently being processed, for an approximate amount of 100,000 euros. These transfers will be made once the pending administrative procedures are finalized, in some cases awaiting the required documentation.
The City Council recalls that these subsidies are governed by the new municipal ordinances on sports. The call was published on October 29 with the aim of supporting the activity of clubs and recognizing the effort of athletes who stand out in official competitions, with the vast majority of files already resolved and paid.
Likewise, the City Council, presided over by Yonathan de León, has highlighted that these aids are complemented by a plan for the renovation and modernization of municipal sports facilities endowed with nearly five million euros, with actions underway in different neighborhoods of the capital.
