The Arrecife City Council, given the proliferation of infections by Covid 19, and the new measures approved this Friday by the Government of the Canary Islands, has decided to close the celebration of the traditional agricultural market next to the Plaza de la Iglesia de San Ginés.

For the moment, the celebration of this traditional market is postponed for the next two Saturdays, and until the evolution of the pandemic is known.

As is known, from this Saturday any event, act or social, sports or religious meeting of more than 10 people will be prohibited for the next 15 days in any locality that exceeds 100 positives per 100,000 inhabitants, as will predictably be on the island of Lanzarote during this weekend on the island of Lanzarote.

The agricultural and traditional market of the Plaza de San Ginés, in the capital of Lanzarote, closes until further notice, the Councilor for Tourism, Commerce, Hospitality and Consumption Areas, Armando Santana, announced this Friday, August 28.

The mandatory mask is also imposed in the workplace and that all hospitality and restaurant establishments must close at 00.00 hours. These next two weeks will be very decisive to flatten the coronavirus curve and from the City Council, the Government group, asks for citizen collaboration in complying with these measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
