“We are facing a milestone for our city, especially for the cultural sphere”. The deputy mayor of Arrecife and councilor for Contracting of the City Council, Echedey Eugenio, stressed this Friday the importance that the upcoming premiere will have for the capital of Lanzarote, after an investment of approximately one million euros, of the future Municipal Theater of Arrecife “which will further democratize access to culture in our city”, he pointed out.
Eugenio visited this Friday, together with the councilor for Culture Abigail González, the new municipal infrastructure after the City Council received the work consisting of the transformation of the Multipurpose Hall of the Civic Center of Arrecife, located in the San Francisco Javier neighborhood, it is a space that will host theatrical, musical programming and events of various kinds, which will make it an island reference in this field.
In this regard, Abigail González highlighted that “the cultural world of Arrecife has long deserved a modern and functional municipal space like this, which will have a capacity for 380 spectators and a useful area of 365 square meters”, which will have telescopic stands, as well as fixed seats and seats for people with reduced mobility (PRM).
“The fact that the stands are retractable allows the space to be adapted to different uses. With the stands extended, it will function as a conventional theater; when they are retracted, the hall is freed up and can host cultural events, presentations, conferences, screenings or other open-format activities”, emphasized the councilor for Culture of the City Council of the capital of Lanzarote.
The infrastructure also has a state-of-the-art technical lighting and sound system, designed to offer quality in performances and flexibility in programming. Added to this is audiovisual equipment, including a projector, which reinforces the multipurpose nature of the hall and expands its possibilities of use.
