This Thursday morning, Armando Santana took office as councilor on the island of La Graciosa. The now councilor chose to wear a Graciosa shirt as a nod to the Eighth Island.
After the resignation of Daisy Villalba from the Cabildo of Lanzarote as councilor of Nueva Canarias, Santana will join the mixed group made up of Óscar Noda from UPY and Óscar Pérez from Vox.
As will be recalled, Santana was third on the list of Nueva Canarias-UPY to the Cabildo and number one to the Arrecife City Council, but after the May 2023 elections, Santana announced that he was leaving politics and his party.
However, in an interview at the beginning of this September on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero, Santana assured that he will adapt to "the discipline of the electoral coalition with which I was elected."
