The Haría City Council doubles the budget allocated to transport aid for students in the municipality for the 2025/2026 academic year, which also increases individual maximum amounts by 70% and, for the first time, includes students enrolled in blended learning who meet the requirements established in the regulations.
These improvements allow for an expansion of the aid's reach, benefiting a greater number of recipients and reinforcing the economic support that the City Council offers to families in the municipality to facilitate access to and continuity of studies outside their place of residence. With this call, the City Council is catching up on transport aid after many years.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, points out that "this call is the result of a new effort by the City Council to support families and ensure that no young person in the municipality has their education conditioned by the cost of traveling to study".
"We are doubling the municipal investment, increasing the aid amounts, and incorporating new study modalities because we want these grants to respond to the real needs of Haría's students and reach more people," adds Villalba.
The aid is aimed at students registered in the municipality who are pursuing official studies in Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, university studies, master's degrees, university extension courses, and postgraduate studies, both within and outside Lanzarote, provided they must travel to undertake their education.
The call includes aid of up to 250 euros for those studying in Lanzarote, up to 700 euros for those pursuing blended or in-person studies in the rest of the archipelago or outside the Canary Islands, and up to 1,200 euros for those undertaking in-person studies outside the island.
The application submission period is one month from the day after the publication of the extract of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, starting July 28th, and must be submitted exclusively through the electronic headquarters of the Haría City Council.
