The Ethics and Guarantees Commission of the PSOE Canarias has proclaimed the re-election of Ángel Víctor Torres as general secretary of the formation after successfully completing the collection of required endorsements.

In a statement, the socialist party has pointed out that the support of the militancy obtained by the also president of the regional government in this process, which ended this weekend, has exceeded the number of established signatures.

In this way, since he is the only registered candidate, and once the submitted endorsements have been verified and validated, the socialist regulations stipulate that it is not necessary to activate any vote prior to his proclamation.

Therefore, Torres will attend as re-elected general secretary both the 40th Federal Congress, which will be held next weekend in Valencia, and the 14th Regional Congress, scheduled for November 19, 20 and 21 in Las Palmas Gran Canaria.

The regional congress will address the renewal of the rest of the positions and teams that will accompany Torres in the new organic stage, and will proceed to the approval of the Marco Presentation, the document that establishes the programmatic axes of the party in the Canary Islands for the next four years.
