The elected deputy of the Canarian Coalition in the Congress of Deputies, Ana Oramas, participated this Tuesday in a meeting with women of the party in Lanzarote, invited by the island secretary, Migdalia Machín. According to the party in a statement, it was "a relaxed talk in which equality policies were discussed and in which the Canarian deputy recalled that women are going to lead the transformations in the 21st century."
For her part, after thanking Oramas for her presence in Lanzarote, Migdalia Machín referred to "the weight that women have gradually acquired in the party on the island", where all the candidacies for the next elections are headed by men. "There is still much to be done, but little by little we are gaining a space that corresponds to us by right," Machín defended.

In addition, she argued that "within an organization the importance of women cannot be associated with a list candidacy." "Our leadership, with an island secretary, a JNL secretary, two local secretaries, councilors, councilors, general directors, etc., is not based on exit positions but on teams," she added.
"The policy that we women make is one of coexistence and integration"
In her visit to the island, the elected deputy Ana Oramas stressed the increase in participation in the past general elections in the province, stating that "this has a lot to do with the renewal and the presence of women." In addition, she reminded all those present that "there is no stipulated age to enter politics", encouraging them to take a step forward. "The policy that we women make is one of coexistence and integration. We have to create networks of women, support each other to help each other and undertake," she stressed.

Oramas also insisted that the Canary Islands need strong institutions governed by nationalists and highlighted the figure of Fernando Clavijo "as a guarantee that there will be work and prosperity in the islands and to meet the needs of all people."
"Fernando Clavijo is the president that all of us who live in the Canary Islands need: a president who does not bend when he has to fight for this land, and there must be nationalist governments in the councils and in the town halls to continue betting on equality policies and against gender violence, betting on women and for a society for women."
