This Monday, Alfredo Mendoza has taken office as a non-elected councilor of the institution. He will be in charge of the areas of Sports and Public Works and the Planning and Project Coordination Unit.
The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, points out that “Alfredo Mendoza has demonstrated an enormous capacity for work and leadership throughout this term.” Qualities, she adds, “that will now be put at the service of the Cabildo of Lanzarote to give a boost in areas of enormous importance and mark the socialist imprint on them.”
The president points out that the appointment of Mendoza as a non-elected councilor responds “to the need to gain management capacity” after the breaking of the Government Pact caused by the Popular Party. “This situation has meant the cessation of the councilors of the aforementioned party in their responsibilities, which makes it necessary to reinforce the government team and carry out a new distribution of responsibilities,” she adds.
In addition, Marcos Bergaz Villalba will add to his responsibilities the direction of the Security and Emergency Consortium and Transport, Mobility and Accessibility; while Carmen Guadalupe will take over the direction of the Employment and New Technologies area.
