The Teguise councilor, Alejandro Ramírez, has stated that his resignation from the position of councilor for sports and citizen participation is due to "the decision to reduce staff in the sports department".

"Since 2023 I have received setbacks and problems", he has assured, "I regret to say that the priority of some political groups is not to work for the good of Teguise, but to interfere with the work of other departments, which their ego and complexes ultimately lead to this management, which is why I am here now. Teguise does not deserve that".

Ramírez is leaving the PP and moving to the Mixed Group, because with the management he has carried out, and the sacrifice he has made, he does not intend to leave "through the back door", as he said.

With his departure, he leaves the governing group formed by CC and PP in the minority, but he is not considering a motion of no confidence and no one has proposed it to him.

For Ramírez, "the problem has been the way our work, appreciated by athletes and clubs, has been countered, and they have made it known to me".

But "I have only received stumbling blocks and problems", something that has happened "in general terms", he has assured.

Likewise, he has apologized "to the residents and the people of Teguise, to the clubs and to the athletes because politics owes them more and politics must respect them more".

“As of today, I am not thinking about a motion of no confidence”,

He states that all his colleagues in the governing group knew of his intention since Friday and that he also called the opposition groups and even sat down with **Marcos Bergaz, the PSOE spokesperson, "who has been a perfect gentleman"** but did not propose a motion of no confidence to him.

"Everyone has been informed from minute one of all the steps I have taken, of all the procedures, of all the requests, both in writing and verbally," he said about his party colleagues.

He did not want to answer if he felt let down by his party, and said that the island president of the PP, Astrid Pérez, had sent him a voice message and said that she feels she "has given her all." **He affirmed that he has been loyal to the PP, although he is not a member.**

"As of today, I am not thinking about a motion of no confidence," but I cannot "put the noose around the neck of all the human team working in the sports department," Ramírez said.

**"I did not come here to break a pact,"** I am here claiming what is rightfully due to the department, to the sports area, that I am against what is going to be presented in the next motion presented by the organizational chart of the human team of the Teguise City Council," he stated.
