True to its annual appointment as the first major cultural event of the year in Lanzarote, MalabHaría returns to the streets of Haría during the days 2, 3 and 4 of January, and it does so consolidating its international spirit and its vocation to surprise the more than 3,000 people who gather each year in the municipality of northern Lanzarote.
And this year, coinciding with its twelfth edition, the Haría International Circus Festival has a top-level program that includes companies from 3 continents, and countries such as Spain, Chile, France, Russia, Belgium, Colombia or Brazil. In total, more than 40 artists from 17 companies will pass through the Plaza and the Haría Pavilion, which will be held between January 2 and 4, with a preview on Saturday, December 29 and a closing Christmas cabaret on January 5.
Precisely, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, appealed to its international character in the presentation of MalabHaría 2019 that took place this morning. "It is undoubtedly a fully consolidated event that has achieved its internationalization after twelve years of intense work. This year it has artists from seven countries and three different continents, which gives an idea of the high level reached and the effort made by the institution. From the Cabildo we join in supporting MalabHaría, understanding the importance of contributing to this event for young and old in which the circus takes center stage," said San Ginés.
In the same vein, the mayor of Haría, Marci Acuña, expressed himself, "the quality of the companies and artists participating in the MalabHaría International Circus Festival this year confirms its consolidation in the regional and national circuit. This year we hope to exceed the 3,000 spectators achieved in previous editions. For a municipality like Haría, with just over 5,000 inhabitants, having an event of this type is a challenge. For a week, Haría is transformed and filled with magic so that we can all enjoy the most incredible shows," concluded the mayor.
Likewise, the northern mayor thanked the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the Government of the Canary Islands for their collaboration and contribution so that MalabHaría can "be a reality and continue to grow year after year".
The press conference was also attended by the Councilor for Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Óscar Pérez, and the technician of the Haría City Council, Susana Gómez.
