A Lanzarote town council fails in Transparency

The average score of the island's councils decreases to 7.68, while the Cabildo stands at 8.8

The average transparency score of the Lanzarote town councils falls to a notable 7.68. In particular, only one of the island's councils fails, with 3.21 points: the Tinajo Town Council. This has been reported by the Canary Islands Active Transparency Index (ITCanarias).

In the previous evaluation, the island's town councils had reached an average score of outstanding for the first time, with 9.02, exceeding the high notable of the previous year in the Canary Islands Transparency Index. However, in this latest evaluation, on the information for 2021, it has declined.

The town councils of Teguise and Tías are the only ones that obtain an outstanding grade in this evaluation, with 10 and 9.48 respectively, while in the previous year there were five town councils with more than 9 points. The Transparency portals of Arrecife, San Bartolomé and Haría are rated as notable, between 8 and 9.

Also noteworthy is the drop in the score of the Yaiza Town Council, which in the ITCanarias 2020 obtained a 9.23, and in this latest evaluation has lowered its score to 5.27.

While the Cabildo of Lanzarote obtained an 8.8.
