A company has filed a procedure in the Administrative Court of Las Palmas against the decree by which the Tías City Council awarded the municipality's light and sound service to the company Tecnosound. The Councilor for Economy and Finance of the Tías City Council, Ramón Melián, has stated that they are "quite calm" in the face of this lawsuit, since "everything has been carried out as it should be".
The tender for the "lighting, sound and furniture assembly service for the development of shows, cultural, festive, sports and social activities" was awarded in early October to the company Tecnosound Canarias S.L.U. for 629,931 euros, not including IGIC.
Now, the former concessionaire of the service, Hercio Luz y Sonido, S.L., has decided to file an appeal against this award. According to Ramón Melián, this company managed this service from the beginning of 2011 until October 2013. "They completed the two years and then lost the new tender and I suppose they will not be satisfied", the mayor pointed out.
Ramón Melián has stated that the City Council "does not fear this complaint", because "the specifications are correct and there are no problems in the award". "It will be the Justice who has to pronounce, but the City Council has correctly followed the procedure", he defended.
Melián has assured that both this and other tenders have been awarded "based on reports from municipal technicians". Specifically, in the light and sound one, the "technician reported that the best offer for the City Council that complied with all the specifications was that of Tecnosound".
