During the past weekend, coinciding with the development of 'San Ginés Joven', agents of the Local Police were monitoring several establishments to prevent the sale of alcoholic beverages among teenagers. The mayor, Yonathan de León, directly responsible for the Local Police, has reinforced prevention with police presence in public spaces of the capital, and in places crowded by the festivities.
The agents' inspection has proposed sanctions for establishments that violate the regulations. The Local Police of the capital has initiated an administrative sanctioning file against a bazaar and store, on the avenue next to El Reducto, upon detecting that alcohol bottles were being sold to minors. In that file, the agents accredit that this mentioned establishment, managed by entrepreneurs of Asian origin, was selling alcohol to minors.
The action, which will also continue during this weekend, where the highest attendance to the concerts is expected, has been carried out within the framework of the special security and prevention services carried out by this police force to guarantee compliance with the established regulations.
In addition to these inspections, the Local Police of Arrecife stands out for being the only local body in the province of Las Palmas that has created the Agent Tutor, within the Minors and Family Unit (UMEF), a unit reinforced this past autumn at the initiative of the mayor of Arrecife.
