The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has established a yellow warning for reduced visibility by suspended dust.
The warning will be in effect from 12:00 hours in the morning of this Saturday, April 18 and will extend throughout all Sunday.
Visibility will be affected at three kilometers by the entry of Saharan dust, which will mainly harm mid-altitude areas and high areas, also being probable that it extends to low areas.
The archipelago has been on pre-alert for calima since midday this past Thursday, decreed by the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands. The calima is not expected to begin to subside, at least, until Monday.
