The Councilor for Social Services of the Yaiza City Council, Juana Guardia, wants to publicly thank "the management, staff and students of the European-Daos school" for the solidarity campaign to collect food that they have developed during these last days, and that has served to obtain around 500 kilos of food non-perishable that will be used to provide funds to the Food Bank of the Yaiza City Council.
As reported by the City Council in a statement, several weeks ago representatives of this educational center contacted the Southern Department of Social Services to learn, closely, about its main shortcomings, needs and demands. As a result of this meeting, the European-Daos school decided to launch a solidarity campaign to collect non-perishable food through which students, teachers and members of the management team have obtained around 500 kilos. These goods will be distributed following the criteria of the municipal Social Services technicians, taking into account the reality of the most needy families in the municipality of Yaiza.
"We live in a society in which, unfortunately, it is increasingly difficult to find gestures, behaviors and attitudes of respect and solidarity towards the most disadvantaged" said Juana Guardia, who has valued this initiative that "serves to educate future generations in solidarity and kindness". "These values are not found in teaching books but define people's lives," she reflected.
