The Yaiza City Council has denied in a press release that the 28 homes evicted this Tuesday in Playa Blanca were in "risk of ruin or collapse", although it emphasizes that "they did not meet the conditions of habitability, healthiness and safety of use".

The council has added that it did issue a technical report in which it exposed this situation. Thus, it has indicated that since last year, when the first eviction notice occurred, it was already found that in this unfinished promotion 99 people lived, 75 adults and 24 minors. Of these, there were people with disabilities, five pregnant women, elderly people and an oncology patient. In addition, some had already requested a vulnerability report from the City Council.

At the same time, the municipal institution has reported that, at least, 68 people of those evicted this Tuesday were in a regular administrative situation. Thus, most of the occupants "lack job stability" because they are pending "to complete the processing of their legal residence in Spain".

Therefore, the writ of the Justice urged the City Council to adopt the appropriate measures to "avoid situations of unprotectedness of those especially vulnerable people".
