Lanzarote photographer Abraham Cabrera has managed to capture a spectacular image full of light as if it were a whirlwind of sparks and fire. It was last Wednesday during a night session in Las Grietas in which he has "used the steel wool technique", says Cabrera.
Dedicated to photography for 15 years, Cabrera uses a technique that is increasingly being seen in the photographic world and that turns a simple image into one that is much more surprising to the eyes of viewers. A way of taking photographs that does not require many materials, although there is one that is essential: steel wool, a material that he has been using for 10 years after discovering it and starting to document it.
In order to achieve the photo, good weather conditions are necessary. "I chose this day because I knew there was going to be good weather", the photographer tells La Voz. "The model and I were there for an hour" to achieve the effect they wanted, and also, "we took fifteen photos" until we got the final image that he has published on his Instagram account," Cabrera points out.
"We took advantage of the fact that there was hardly any wind" and also to give "another approach" to Las Grietas, one of the areas of Lanzarote that has become more popular for some time thanks to its dissemination on social networks, specifically, through the photographs of visitors.
