"Universo Colorao" conquered Jameos del Agua last Saturday. A very novel show in which each of the attendees who filled the auditorium could imagine their own "Universe" through music. A new facet of the renowned timple player from Majorera, Domingo Rodríguez "El Colorao", an extraordinary musician who likes to take risks in each of his projects.

This time it is an adventure where music, in its entirety with Canarian roots fused with new musical trends, did not lose its primitive origin at any time, making the show become a kind of investigation and rescue of Canarian popular music. El Colorao opted for this show with great connoisseurs of music such as the also recognized timple player from Lanzarote, Toñín Corujo and his Quartet set endorsed by four extraordinary musicians. In addition, the voices of the brothers, Ciro and Pancho Corujo, and the special collaboration of the maestro, Antonio Corujo, a great exponent of the couplets of the maestro de salinas, Victor Fernández Gopar, joined. For this show there was also a young revelation musician, the nine-year-old boy, Néstor Castro Corujo, who demonstrated his great skill with the keyboard and the handling of the limpets.

"Universo Colorao", ninety minutes in constant movement with a very careful staging, managing to make the audience enjoy until the last minute. Under the direction of María Valido, the established script was developed. Once again El Colorao conquered the attendees with his good work and homespun closeness of a town man to whom the stages have not managed to steal that human gift that characterizes him. Antonio Corujo, a great connoisseur of our customs and traditions, Ciro and Pancho Corujo, voices that filled the vault of the auditorium with folías, polkas and seguidillas. A saga that continues with the inherited legacy, Toñin Corujo, a student of his grandfather Domingo Corujo, from whom he learned the first chords of the guitar and from his father Antonio those of the timple, Toñín performed a piece in which he managed with nine timples displayed in an exhibitor to join with the rest of the instruments.

Ariel Hernández, a musician of great talent, composer of the musical piece "Famara", managed to transfer the murmur of the waves and the strong trade winds that caress Famara to the stage of the auditorium. "Universo Colorao" ended to the rhythm of an isa parrandera where musicians and the public joined their voices singing the choruses and accompanying with palms, a show to repeat.
