Maritime Rescue has intercepted two boats this Tuesday in waters near Lanzarote. In the first boat, approximately 35 people of Maghrebi origin could be traveling, while in the second, around 37.

According to information provided by the Security and Emergency Consortium, a merchant ship gave the warning after encountering one of the inflatable boats.

The Guardamar has come to rescue them to transfer them to Puerto Naos in Arrecife to be attended by the Red Cross.

The Emergency Coordination Center, through the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, has reported that the migrants are of sub-Saharan origin, all men, and are apparently in good health. The estimated time of arrival in Naos is 12:00 hours.
