The acting mayor of the Arrecife City Council, Pedro de Armas, and the Councilor for Festivities of the capital Consistory, Eduardo

Lasso, accompanied by Miss Arrecife 2009 and the Queen of the Festivities of

San Ginés 2009, Sara García and Natalia Curbelo, respectively,

presented this Thursday to the press, in the halls of the Arrecife Gran

Hotel, the 21 candidates for Miss Arrecife and Queen of the Festivities of San

Ginés 2010, who will participate in the Election Gala, which will take place on

Saturday, August 14, at the Arrecife Fairgrounds.

A little over a week before the celebration of the Gala, the illusion was

maximum among the aspirants, and the nerves, too. With an original

staging, in which each of them showed off all her beauty, upon being

presented by the organizer of the contest, Willie Díaz, one by one they were

posing before the cameras of photos and television of the graphic reporters.

The 21 candidates will go next Tuesday, August 10, to the Arrecife City Council, where they will be received by the capital's mayor, Cándido Reguera, and on Wednesday they will make their offering for the most needy in the municipality in the parish of San Ginés. On Friday, August 13, at 9:30 p.m., the pre-gala will take place, choosing Miss Congeniality, Photogenicity and Elegance.

One of the aspirants could not be present yesterday in the halls of the

Arrecife Gran Hotel due to illness, although it is expected that very soon she

join the journey of these 21 aspirants to the titles of Miss Arrecife

and Queen of the Festivities 2010, who have scheduled for the nine days remaining for the contest.
