The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, and the councilor of the Primary Sector and Economic Promotion, Andrés Stinga, have presented the sports clubs of the municipality of Tías with the amount of the collection obtained from the sale of drink tickets among the attendees of the I Festival of Volcanic Cuisines held last November, in Puerto del Carmen.
In total, 16,000 euros were raised, which will be divided equally among the Puerto del Carmen and PDC 2016 football clubs; the Barrilla Puerto del Carmen Club, for handball, and the Magec Tías, for basketball.
"It is the best culmination to an event that met all the planned objectives and that, in addition, has had the capacity to generate extra resources for those who do so much to promote sports and healthy living among the children and youth of the island," Corujo said.
For his part, Andrés Stinga wanted to thank Coca Cola for its collaboration in this initiative with a solidarity nature, and recalled "the resounding success" of a Festival that "managed to bring together the Saborea Lanzarote family and highlight their work and creativity based on local products. Far from falling into complacency," the councilor assured, "we are already working to celebrate an even better II edition next year."
The first edition of the Saborea Lanzarote Volcanic Cuisine Festival featured chefs of local, national and international prestige, who shared experiences and knowledge with the numerous attendees through the colors and flavors of their rich gastronomic proposals.
