They denounce that a dog has "terrified" Tao and that it already bit the grandmother of a student of the school

The AMPA of the town's educational center demands that the City Council keep the animal "in custody" and the City Council affirms that it is "monitoring" it.

The AMPA Cuevas del Pilar of the CEIP of Tao, representing the parents and students of the center, has denounced "the situation of irregularity and potential danger suffered by the entire town" due to a neighbor's dog, which they claim bit a grandmother last year when she was going to pick up her granddaughter from the center.

According to them, this "attack with a bite" took place on April 8th and, since then, they claim that the town is "terrified". And, although they claim that there are "several complaints filed with the Local Police" by neighbors and that the school and the AMPA also notified the City Council of the situation, they assure that "the animal continues to go out for walks without a leash and without a muzzle".

"The parents and relatives of the school have been forced to modify daily habits", they point out in a statement, in which they explain that due to "fear" they do not go for walks in the town, that they take the students by car or that the town's court attached to the school is not used. And, they emphasize that the house where the dog resides is located "just 120 meters" from the school, "with the consequent danger that this entails".

Thus, "desperate" about the situation and "in the absence of solutions for almost a year", the parents of the CEIP of Tao affirm that they are considering stopping taking their children to school as a preventive measure. In addition, they demand that the City Council keep the animal "in custody" until a solution is found.

The City Council affirms that it is monitoring the animal

"We are very worried", said the Councilor for Animal Ownership of the City Council, Sara Bermúdez, who affirmed that she met with the parents this Monday and that the City Council is "monitoring" the animal.

"The Police are going to try to keep the owner with the dog inside and the protocols are being followed", said the councilor, who also explained that, after the attack last year, the dog was "in quarantine" for two weeks in the kennel and that the owner of the animal was sanctioned.
