The Titerroy Neighborhood Association denounces that the mayor of Arrecife, Manuel Fajardo Feo, has "ordered the mutilation of the canopy located at the bus stop in Plaza Pío XII", removing "the bench where dozens of elderly people from the neighborhood sit every day to wait for the bus."

The Association considers that this decision is "a total disregard for the residents" and is "completely absurd", so it announces that if the City Council does not find a quick solution, it will "place chairs at the aforementioned stop every day, so that the elderly can wait for the buses sitting down."

The Neighborhood Association recalls that this is the second time that the City Council has removed the bench from the bus stop. "The first time was by order of the then mayor, Cándido Reguera. After Reguera left the Mayor's Office, the Councilor for Transportation, Víctor San Ginés, placed the bench again," they recall. However, they assure that "just a few months later, it is now the new mayor, Manuel Fajardo Feo, who personally orders the removal of the canopy."

For the neighborhood association, it is "incomprehensible that an entire mayor personally orders, against the criteria of the Councilor for Transportation, a bench from a canopy, mutilating public furniture."
