The storm that is hitting different areas of Lanzarote this Thursday has caused the breakage of a dock in the port of Caleta de Sebo, as confirmed by the delegate councilor of the eighth island, Alicia Páez. "The weather here is horrible, there has been a very strong storm all night", she said
According to Páez, it is a dock on the northern breakwater, which is used "as a support" and is usually used by, among others, the Reserve boat or sailboats that arrive urgently to the island. "Professional and sports boats are in other docks", she said.
Although the delegate councilor of La Graciosa has insisted that "the storm is very strong" on the eighth island, she has also pointed out that both she and the Fishermen's Association have been "demanding the improvement" of the port's docks for some time. "Puertos Canarios has to do a review and improve them, because there are some with breakages, with half-broken boards...", she pointed out.

It should be remembered that Lanzarote is on yellow alert for wind this Thursday, with forecasts of gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour, although according to Aemet it will only affect the north and west coasts and La Graciosa. The warning will be deactivated at 5:00 p.m., but will be reactivated at midnight, remaining until 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
