The residents of the town of Tiagua said goodbye this Tuesday to the festivities in honor of their patron saint, Nuestra Señora del Socorro. From the early hours of the morning, a group of neighbors took care of the floral arrangements of the church and the throne of the Virgin for the great event in her honor.
In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m., the Religious Function was celebrated with the celebration of Holy Mass, which was presided over by the parish priest of Tinajo, Victor Dominguez, and which was attended by many residents of the town. After the mass, they paraded the Virgin in procession through the main streets of the town.
Upon returning from the processional route and before the image entered the church, the family of the Guanapay Folk Group of Teguise offered her their offering with traditional songs and dances. Next, Angelita, a resident of Tiagua, dedicated a poem to the Virgin, which received applause from the public. Thus, the end point was put this year to the festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora del Socorro.
