The General Directorate of Emergencies maintains the pre-alert for haze this Monday in Lanzarote. This has been dictated by the Government of the Canary Islands based on the prediction of AEMET and/or other available sources, and in application of the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena PEFMA

The episode of suspended dust will mainly affect the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, although it could also still be significant in the midlands, summits and southern slope of Gran Canaria. It will cause decreased visibility and may generate or aggravate health problems for people with chronic and/or respiratory diseases

For this Tuesday, March 19, according to AEMET, the haze will be light at altitude. In the north and west there will be a predominance of cloudy skies with clearings in the afternoon. As for temperatures there will be no changes and the wind will blow moderately from the northeast with intervals of strong in inland areas.
