The new Ryanair cabin crew strike began this Monday without leaving any incidents in Lanzarote for the moment. All flights scheduled on the island have taken off and landed without problems, and this is expected to continue throughout the day.

According to the company itself, a total of 10 flights have been canceled throughout Spain on this first day of the strike, which were those that connected, both in and out, Barcelona and Milan, Barcelona and Rome, Barcelona and London, Barcelona and Menorca and Palma de Mallorca-Hamburg.

In addition, the strike has caused delays at different airports in the national territory, although no delays have been reported on the island so far.

The strike is called until January 7, 2023, with intermittent strike days. Specifically, there will be a strike from Monday to Thursday, with Friday and the weekend excluded.

The airline has stated that previous strikes called by the USO and SITCPLA unions had "little support and minimal effect." Ryanair assures that in the more than 3,000 flights it operates per month, in previous strikes "only 1% has been affected."

"The disruption in this strike is expected to be minimal, if any, in the operation scheduled for the coming months," the airline said. Regarding the possible effects in the coming days in Lanzarote, Ryanair says that they will be reporting daily on the number of flights canceled in the national territory.
