The new governing board of the Lanzarote Bar Association took office last Friday at a ceremony held at the Santo Domingo Convent in La Villa de Teguise.
This is the board resulting from the electoral process that took place last November. The board is as follows: the dean who continues to be Carlos Viñas, the vice-dean Rosa Mary Callero, the second deputy Paola María Matassa, third deputy Astrid Carolina Seijas, fourth deputy José Enrique Gómez, fifth deputy Miguel José Magdaleno de León, the secretary Rosa María García, the treasurer Francisco González and the librarian-accountant Chouhayda Beneyto.
The event was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín, the island director, Pedro VIera, the mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, the former deans Marcial Francisco Hernández and Francisco Torres Stinga, among other authorities.
The new board states that among the objectives are "the defense of the Legal Aid as an achievement of a justice system available to all, as well as carrying out continuous training of its members in order to offer Lanzarote society the best professionals and all this within the support of any project aimed at achieving a Justice S.XXI".
