The Canarian band Los Salvapantallas put the finishing touch to the patron saint festivities in honor of La Magdalena and the Sacred Heart of Jesus this Sunday in Conil. With music, the town of Tías ends an intense week of activities organized by the Department of Festivities of the City Council.

The tent where the Los Salvapantallas concert was held, installed next to the Aday sociocultural center in Conil, "was full of loyal fans, who followed the performance of this innovative Canarian band in a fun way," they pointed out from the Tías City Council. Songs like 'Baila Morena' (Zucchero), 'I Want to break Free' (Queen), 'Clavado en un bar' (Maná), or 'Walking on sunshine' (Katrina and the Waves) managed to make the hundreds of attendees jump. In addition, it should be noted that Los Salvapantallas were accompanied by the local band Graduado Escolar.

Among the public were the mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, the councilor for Festivities, Francisco Javier Aparicio Betancort, and the councilor for Economy and Finance, Ramón Melía, along with other councilors from the Government group.

 

The XII Juan Ramón Rodríguez Sepúlveda Folklore Encounter was held


On Saturday night, after the completion of the pilgrimage to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Tegoyo, the XII Juan Ramón Rodríguez Sepúlveda Folklore Encounter took place. The event featured performances by the Gaida and Guarache groups, from Tenerife; and was followed by the IX Baile de Taifa y Candil, with performances by the Ahí va la Cosa parrandas, from Tenerife, and Pa'l Porrón and Los Gurfines del Puerto, from Lanzarote.

Within the activities organized by the Festival Committee and sponsored by the Tías City Council, this Sunday a puppet theater was also offered for children and all families, by the Patakabra Company, with the staging of the play 'El Rey Bufón'. A children's circus theater comedy with puppets, where both adults and children enjoyed its narration.

On Sunday afternoon, the residents of Conil demonstrated their culinary skills, both to win the prize for the best tortilla, and to win the title for the best homemade dessert. The festivities concluded at night with a participatory popular barbecue.
