In its second reopening after two cancellations motivated by the health restrictions imposed since the beginning of the pandemic, the Teguise Village Market received 1,500 visitors this Sunday, who complied with the protocol provided by the emergency services, according to the City Council.
The Teguise City Council reactivated the security plan to guarantee the "success" of this new reopening, after the island of Lanzarote and La Graciosa have exceeded alert level 4.

A total of 80 stalls with handicrafts, food, general items and a wide variety occupied the delimited area of La Mareta square, with two access points with temperature control and with the necessary measures and devices to enforce health indications.
In this sense, the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, thanked the collaboration of the Security Forces and Bodies and the Emerlan and Civil Protection personnel of Teguise, and pledged to “coordinate revitalization actions that attract more people to the Historic Site of the Villa every Sunday, and thus recover the activity and economic health so necessary in these times of crisis”.
“We have to live with the threat of the virus without further damaging the already battered economy,” he reiterated, expressing his wish that “Lanzarote and La Graciosa will very soon move to level 2.”
