A total of 23 people, including the mayor of Haría, have been in quarantine since last Friday, after seven of the immigrants who were traveling in the boat that capsized off the coast of Órzola tested positive.
Once the test results were known, everyone who had had close contact was informed that they should begin isolation. Last Saturday they underwent the first PCR, all of which were negative, but nevertheless, they must remain in quarantine until next Sunday, when they will undergo a second test to find out if they have been infected.
In addition, Health will carry out a preventive screening among another 56 people who acted on the day of the rescue, to "give greater peace of mind", given the circumstances in this case.
The positives detected among the people who were traveling in this boat and who survived the shipwreck, are added to those also detected in the migrants who arrived in another boat in Playa Honda. In this case, there were 18 positives.
