The Lanzaroteña Sara Díaz, European and world champion of pétanque, visited this Thursday the program La Revuelta presented by the Andalusian comedian David Broncano to participate in the tournament La petanca del año.
The event organized by the program, which seems to imitate the title of La velada del año, an event that combines boxing and music, promoted by the youtuber Ibai Llanos, has been promoted after a spectator asked David Broncano to give petanque "the place it deserves" on public television.
"From seeming unattainable to sharing a day with them," the athlete celebrated on her social media after participating in the tournament. Furthermore, she thanked La Revuelta for that day. "You have also taken risks and it has been unforgettable," she added.
The petanque champion has played a match of this traditional game teaming up with Broncano himself, under the name of Pumas de San Rafael. Both have battled against another of the show's producers, Jorge Ponce, who was part of the team Anacondas Rencorosas.
Alongside Ponce participated the folk singer María del Monte, the rapper El Langui, the actress Clara Galle, the national Open champion Rosa Barranquero and the world, European and Spanish champion Jesús Cacho. Meanwhile, the actor Miguel Ángel Muñoz, the writer Juan José Millás, the program collaborator Lalachus, the president of the Spanish Petanque Federation, Antonio Pérez, in addition to the woman from Lanzarote, joined Broncano's team.
The event, which concluded with the victory of the Grumpy Anacondas, also featured a halftime performance by the group Cervatana, formed by some of the members of the band Derby’s Motoreta Burrito Kachimba, according to RTVE.
