The constant complaints about the difficulties to process documents in the only office of the General Directorate of Traffic in Lanzarote continue. A citizen has pointed out to La Voz that he has been trying to find an appointment at its headquarters in Arrecife for several days to obtain a circulation permit. After trying to schedule it through the web offered by Tráfico, there are no vacancies in Lanzarote, compared to which there are available in neighboring islands such as Fuerteventura or Gran Canaria.

"I have acquaintances who go to Fuerteventura to speed up the procedures," he told this editorial office. "It's a joke, I've been trying to get a circulation permit for five or six days," said an annoyed citizen, although he is not the only one. In recent months, driving schools and trainee drivers have denounced the difficulty in finding a date to take the exam, something that is aggravated in the summer and Christmas months when young people return to the island for a few days to enjoy their vacations.

"We are aware that 30 daily appointments are being attended in Tráfico," said the island director of Lanzarote, Pedro Viera. However, the Government of Spain is processing the incorporation of two more people to the staff to address this situation.

Currently, according to the figures offered by Viera, "six people work in the Traffic office of Arrecife, although one of them is on medical leave and has not yet been replaced." Meanwhile, only two work facing the public, while the other three do administrative work, alternating to support the rest of the colleagues when necessary.
