The Islote de Fermina hosted this Thursday the inauguration of the I Miniature Enyesques Congress Lanzarote. The edition will be extended until April 23, and during these days different chefs from the Basque Country and Navarra will demonstrate their skills in miniature cuisine.
The Vice President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Marcos Bergaz, conveyed during the opening day of the event the "honor and pride that it means for the Island to host an event of this level and prestige." "During these days, we are going to put all our senses into learning from one of the most outstanding culinary cultures in the world," he added.
"We are going to learn everything we can and, from their hand, we are going to try to discover the pintxos in this Congress and I have full confidence that Lanzarote's gastronomy will take advantage of these days of work together with the chefs from the Basque Country and Navarra," he said.
"In addition, nothing less than a University Master's Degree in Gastronomic Sciences will be offered, an academic offer that our young professionals are also attending who aspire to leave their mark on the world of gastronomy," said Marcos Bergaz.
The Vice President also announced that "Lanzarote will be delighted to attend the ninth edition of the Congress, which will be held in Vitoria-Gasteiz in early autumn." "We will bring what we have: our cooking experience in a volcanic ecosystem," he added.
"Together, volcanoes and gastronomy, illuminate a unique product, which is capable of attracting the attention of the most curious and demanding travelers, and I think Lanzarote is an example of this," Bergaz concluded.
