The General Directorate of Emergencies has declared a pre-alert situation for coastal phenomena in Lanzarote starting at 11:00 a.m. this Thursday.

This decision is made taking into account the information provided by the State Meteorological Agency and other available sources, and in application of the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA).

The meteorological forecast points to poor sea conditions and high coefficient spring tides; northeast wind of force 5 (29-38 km/h) increasing to force 6 (39-49 km/h) between the islands of greater relief and on the high seas south of the archipelago.

Swell-strong swell and northeast swell of 2-3 meters and combined sea waves of 2.5-3.5 meters.
