The NGO Association of Volunteers of the Canary Islands Rescue Emergency Operations Group in Lanzarote is distributing masks at home on the island.

As explained by the association, the masks are being made by the Las Heroínas collective, made up of more than 100 seamstresses from the island, who work "day and night" to distribute them "to people who need them."

In the last two weeks they have been distributed to private individuals, to detachments of the State Security Forces, at the Local Police station and to several pharmacies. In total, the association states that, until April 17, it had made 65 deliveries.

In this regard, the GOREC Volunteers Association highlights that its social services staff, made up of two people, receives "more than 100 calls a day requesting mask deliveries, because they cannot be obtained."
