The dance festival 'Traslación', an innovative project that promotes the consolidation of contemporary dance on the Lanzarote scene and brings the public closer to this artistic discipline, celebrates its IV edition this year. And it does so with an open call for the selection of dance pieces that will make up its next celebration, between November 2 and 13, 2022.
Since the process of receiving proposals began on February 1, the organization has already received a hundred choreographies, from diverse origins, styles and inspirations; the reception of proposals will remain open until March 14.

For this edition, the group indicates that an "amateur" category has been articulated to make visible the work developed by dance schools, companies and non-professional performers, which will have its space in the festival.
Once the call is over, they indicate that they will proceed to "the selection of the companies that will be part of the festival sessions, the design of the official poster, the definition of the alternative spaces for the celebration of the shows and workshops as well as the rest of the event management".
The dance company El Jablero and the company gestionART-e co-produce the dance event, which is directed by the Lanzarote dancer and choreographer Acerina H. Toledo. For its development, it has had the support of the Culture Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the town councils of Teguise, headquarters and origin of the festival, San Bartolomé, Tías, Arrecife and Haría. As in previous years, the organization points out that the event will celebrate its opening day in the Villa, to continue its island tour through the rest of the municipalities.

“Traslación relates dance to the territory of the island and turns its corners into stages where artists and the public are the real protagonists; it offers a new look at everyday spaces and proudly displays the natural and architectural heritage of Lanzarote”, say the festival organizers.
