The Government Council of the Canary Islands has authorized this Thursday a credit extension for an amount of 90,000 euros in the budgets of the Canary Health Service to finance the expenses of the Health Services Management of Lanzarote for the contracting of the Noah's Ark service, destined to the isolation and quarantine due to Covid-19 of vulnerable people.

The Noah's Ark project was launched in October 2020 by the Canary Health Service to make private accommodations available to socially vulnerable people who must undergo isolation or quarantine because they are positive cases of Covid-19, suspected cases or close contacts of a positive case. Likewise, it is intended for healthcare personnel with diagnosis, suspicion, close contact or with a high level of occupational exposure to contagion.

"With short-stay accommodation, the spread of the virus, the use of health resources without justified healthcare reasons and the reduction of hospital pressure are avoided," they emphasize from the regional Executive.
