The General Directorate of Emergencies, based on the forecast of the Spanish Meteorological Agency, has declared a wind pre-alert for this Wednesday starting at 00:00 tonight.

This pre-alert comes after the activation of the yellow warning by Aemet for this situation. Specifically, the pre-alert will affect all the islands of the archipelago except La Gomera. In the case of Lanzarote, the Government specifies that the western half of Tinajo, Teguise and Haría will not be affected.

The wind will blow from the moderate northeast, increasing to strong on the southeast and northwest slopes of the islands with the highest relief and in points of the southern half of Fuerteventura and in the south and east of Lanzarote. Strong and very strong gusts are likely that will reach and/or exceed 60-80 kilometers per hour.
