The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has extended the orange heat warning in Lanzarote and La Graciosa which, in principle, was only planned for this Tuesday. Now, Aemet has reported that this Wednesday, both islands will also be under this orange warning.
Thus, Lanzarote and La Graciosa are this Monday under yellow alert from 11:00 AM to 7:69 PM this same day. Temperatures of up to 34 degrees are expected, especially in the southern inland areas.
This Tuesday, the alert will turn orange, with maximum values that will reach 37 degrees, especially in southern inland areas. On Wednesday, Aemet still establishes this orange alert for high temperatures.
Temperatures will begin to drop notably this Thursday, where maximums will no longer be expected to exceed 30 degrees.
Already on this Sunday, maximums of 31.1 degrees were reached in Lanzarote at Lanzarote Airport and in the town of Tías, according to Aemet data.
