The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has updated the warnings due to the detachment of a trough that will be located east of the Canary Islands and that will cause rain, wind, swell and possible storms starting this Thursday.
Aemet has also activated the yellow warning for rain starting at 12:00 p.m. this Thursday and will extend until 11:59 p.m. on that same day. Accumulated rainfall of up to 15 liters per square meter in one hour.
Likewise, the yellow warnings for wind and coastal phenomena have also been extended. The warning for wind will be activated from 12:00 hours this Thursday with gusts that may reach and/or exceed 70 kilometers per hour, especially in areas of the interior of the island, and will extend until 23:59 on Friday.
Regarding the swell, the warning will begin at 19:00 hours this Thursday also and will conclude at 10:00 hours on Friday. It will be possible to reach waves of between four and five meters in height.
The forecast for this Thursday points to cloudy skies with weak rains, more probable in the northwest. Minimum temperatures will hardly experience changes and maximums will drop moderately, with values between 13 and 18 degrees. The wind will blow from the moderate north with strong intervals and very strong gusts inland.
