Storm Olivier puts Lanzarote on orange alert for rain and yellow alert for storms

Aemet registers an orange alert and two yellow alerts from early Wednesday morning to 3:00 p.m. and warns of the possibility of hail

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has established an orange alert and two yellow alerts in anticipation of the arrival of Storm Olivier to Lanzarote this Wednesday.

Aemet has established an orange alert for rainfall accumulated in one hour, a yellow alert for rainfall accumulated in 12 hours, and another for storms. This adverse weather situation may occur between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

According to the bulletin issued this Wednesday, the probability of very heavy rainfall is between 10 and 40%, i.e., very low. Meanwhile, the accumulated rainfall in 12 hours is expected to reach 40 millimeters and has a higher probability of occurring.

Aemet also warns that the storm alert has a probability of between 40 and 70% of occurring and that these could be accompanied by hail.

In addition, there is a yellow alert for rainfall accumulated in one hour for early Thursday morning, between 2:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
