The storm Nuria that is affecting Lanzarote and the rest of the Canary Islands is barely noticeable on the island. So far it has only caused some problems in the connections with the island with the company Líneas Romero, which has canceled its trips with Fuerteventura on Thursday due to the strong waves and gusts of wind.
For its part, Líneas Romero maintains the routes between Órzola and La Graciosa normally so far unless the weather situation worsens. For their part, Fred Olsen and Naviera Armas also maintain their connections with the rest of the islands normally for the moment.
The storm already began to be noticed on Wednesday with some rains that left 17 liters per square meter in the northern part of the island and gusts of wind that in Haría reached 70 kilometers per hour.
As you will remember, this Thursday, the island is on alert for strong winds that can reach 70-100 kilometers per hour and classes have been suspended in La Graciosa, Tenerife and La Palma. The alert for strong waves has also been activated during this day.
Beaches with red flag
Some of the beaches of Lanzarote have raised the red flag due to the alert for coastal phenomena declared by the Government of the Canary Islands. In Playa Chica, Playa Grande, Los Pocillos and Matagorda bathing has been prohibited this Thursday due to waves that can reach 5 meters in height.
