With the celebration of Holy Thursday, the Catholic Church begins the 'Paschal Triduum'. This celebration is considered the central moment of Holy Week, a very special celebration because on this day several events of great importance are commemorated, such as the 'Last Supper' that Jesus shared with his disciples in which the 'Eucharist' was instituted, the bread and wine as symbols of the Body and Blood of Jesus.

During the 'Chrism Mass' the priests renew their priestly promises, those they made before God and before the Church. This day traditionally recalls the 'Washing of the Feet', which is currently performed by all the priests of the world.

In the main church of San Ginés Obispo at 7:30 p.m. the celebration began, presided over by the titular parish priest, Juan Carlos Medina, with the songs enlivened by the 'Parish Choir' directed by the Religion teacher, José Juan Umpiérrez. The readings for this celebration are very special; the first is from the book of Exodus (Prescriptions on the Passover meal), the second reading is from the first letter of the apostle Saint Paul to the Corinthians (For every time you eat this bread and drink this wine, you proclaim the death of the Lord).

The Gospel is the moment of the washing of the feet of the disciples and which acquires a prominent symbolism within the offices of this day. After the distribution of the Eucharist, the Holy Mass ended with the prayer without the usual farewell.

Next, the Blessed Sacrament was transferred under a canopy from the altar where the Holy Mass had been celebrated in procession through the interior of the church to the so-called 'Altar of Reservation' or 'Monument'. where during the night the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is maintained, celebrating the so-called 'Holy Hour', until around midnight. For some years now, the Catholic Church has celebrated Holy Thursday, the so-called 'Day of Brotherly Love'.
