The City Council of San Bartolomé incorporates 36 traffic video surveillance equipment to be located in the municipality and is tendering the lease of these equipment for an amount of 56,074.77 euros, with an execution period of one year.
Currently, a pilot experience is being carried out in Playa Honda consisting of three location points with three cameras in each, a total of nine surveillance cameras that have already contributed to detecting serious traffic and road safety infractions and reducing the number of vandalism acts due to the deterrent nature of these measures.
For the first time, three camera points will be installed in the town of San Bartolomé and the municipality will thus have a total of twelve points, which translates into 36 cameras.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, emphasizes that "this action is in addition to those already carried out by the City Council, such as the improvement of the staff, which will be increased by six positions, through the procedure that is open for the creation of vacancies that will be a reality throughout 2023".
"This City Council's primary objective is to guarantee the safety of citizens by providing the municipality with infrastructures and a security body that allows it to face the needs," Pérez points out.
The Councilor for New Technologies, Antonio Rocío, explains that "the installation of a specific network of cameras at the access points to the town and in some roads will provide the possibility of capturing images of the traffic routes to detect infractions in traffic and security matters".
