Maritime Rescue has intercepted three new precarious boats this Wednesday near the coast of Lanzarote, which adds to the one that arrived in Costa Teguise on its own means. This has been reported by the Emergency Coordination Center to the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote.
Specifically, until 4:00 p.m. this Wednesday, four precarious boats have been brought to the island, with a total of 205 people on board.
The first boat of the day arrived on its own means to Costa Teguise. The boat arrived after 7:30 in the morning at El Ancla beach, with 37 migrants on board.
After that, the Guardamar Talía located a second boat with 54 migrants (47 men and seven women) east of Lanzarote and transferred them to Puerto Naos, around 12:30 in the morning.
In the third intercepted boat, 43 people were traveling on board. As reported by the Efe Agency, the Guardamar Urania reached the fishing boat Cima de Oro, whose crew had reported after 2:50 in the morning, the sighting of a pneumatic boat 91.8 kilometers from Punta Prieta.
At 3:19 a.m., part of the 43 people who were on board this second boat (35 men, seven women and a baby) began to climb onto the fishing boat and some fell into the sea while trying to leave the pneumatic boat.
This circumstance forced the mobilization of the Helimer 204 helicopter in case its intervention was necessary, which did not happen because the fishing boat managed to get all the members of this expedition on board in apparent good health. The Guardamar Urania arrived at the place and carried out the transfer of the immigrants around 11:45 a.m. It went with them to Arrecife, where it disembarked at 2:15 p.m.
The fourth boat was rescued 30 nautical miles by the Guardamar Al Nair in the afternoon of this Wednesday, with 68 migrants on board and arrived at Puerto Naos at 2:45 p.m.
