The Equality Department of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Maite Corujo, reports that the registration period is now open to participate in the 13th Race Against Gender Violence 2025, an initiative that is part of the commemorative events of November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
This event is organized once again by the Equality Area of the Arrecife City Council together with the Specialized Service for Equality, Gender Violence and Diversity (SIAM) of the Social Welfare Area of the Island Council of Lanzarote, with the aim of making visible and reinforcing the collective commitment to the violence suffered by women and minors who are victims of gender violence.
The sporting event will be held on Saturday, November 22 on an urban course of approximately 2.9 kilometers, with the start and finish line in the Ramírez Cerdá Park. At 12:00 noon there will be a joint warm-up and the official start will be at 12:30 p.m.
Registration is free and can be done through the following link.
It will also be possible to register on the day of the race itself, in the Ramírez Cerdá Park, from 10:00 to 11:00. The collection of bib numbers will take place on Friday, November 21 from 17:00 to 19:30 and on Saturday the 22nd from 10:00 to 11:30.
"With this race, we want to continue remembering that the fight against sexist violence needs each and every one of us. Every step we take together counts towards building a freer, fairer, and more egalitarian society," Maite Corujo pointed out.
The capital's head of Equality recalls that "this race is not just a sporting event, but a demonstration of unity and social commitment. For this reason, from the Arrecife City Council we invite all citizens to join, participate and make visible their rejection of any form of gender violence."
