Pre-alert declared for wind in Lanzarote this Thursday, which is added to the swell

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has established a yellow alert for strong wind gusts for this Thursday in Lanzarote. As a result of this alert, the Directorate General of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has established a pre-alert for wind, which is added to the pre-alert for coastal phenomena throughout the archipelago due to waves that can reach three meters in height.

For the moment, the alert will begin at 6:00 AM this Thursday and will conclude at midnight on Friday. Meanwhile, the pre-alert for winds that can reach maximum gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour will start from the early morning of this Thursday.

For its part, Aemet has indicated that there is a 40% to 70% possibility that this adverse meteorological phenomenon will occur. Thus, it indicates that the maximum gusts could be 70 kilometers per hour, although Emergencies of the Canary Islands government increases the wind force to gusts of 80 kilometers per hour.

The Canary Islands Executive has also declared the pre-alert in Gran Canaria, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, Tenerife, and Fuerteventura. In the easternmost islands, the wind will be stronger on the southern slope.

Added to this is that Gran Canaria will also be on yellow alert for waves between 3:00 PM this Thursday and 12:00 AM on Friday, with wind blowing at sea force seven, between 50 and 61 kilometers per hour.
