Pepe Tabares, returns to the presidency of La Casa del Miedo after 6 years out of office, as confirmed in a recent interview on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero.
"I felt tired and it was necessary to give way to young people," he explained on the air the reasons for his departure. He left his position in the hands of a man who had worked with him side by side. "A guy who helped me a lot in the San Ginés festivities, and I thought he was the ideal person to reveal me," he pointed out.
To his surprise, the newly appointed president turned the House of Fear into a bar. "At first everything was going very well, but after a year he closed the society, reformed the kitchen and set up a bar," he added. A decision that caused it to cease to exist. "At that moment the society ended," he stressed.
"The bar was exploited by them, the three directors, always for their particular use," said Tabares, who criticizes that from then on "everything changed in the environment surrounding the society." "It was a disaster, it was abandoned, the members did not even pass by there, in addition, they were poorly attended, and many other things," he revealed.
"They removed the person who was dedicated to attending to the society," criticized Tabares. Internal assemblies stopped being held and members began to be unaware of its operation. "There were no meetings or assemblies, there was no information to the members about how the society was doing," he added.
After the time of "lack of control" in the direction of La Casa del Miedo, it finally had to close. Tabaares still does not know the causes, like the other members, "I went to talk to him personally, but he does not show his face, nor to give an explanation," he said. According to what he said, many members contacted him to return to the direction of the society. "I have been forced to take the reins again," he pointed out.
In order to re-form the society, they had to include some internal changes regarding the Management Board. "We had to make decisions and hire a lawyer, in addition to appointing a Management Board and on the fly, appointing a board of directors," he said.
As of today, La Casa del Miedo already has the pertinent arrangements to return with its new opening. "We have it ready to celebrate any cultural event," Tabares advanced. Soon it will be in perfect condition to host the cultural celebrations that the island hosts. "We are assembling the stage that was loaded to give it back the meaning it had before," he concluded with enthusiasm.
